Service Press began with a single letterpress, a husband-and-wife team, and a belief in doing things the right way.
In 1974, our doors first opened in Hartford as a small letterpress shop serving local businesses one job at a time. As demand grew, so did we. We expanded into business forms, brought on new team members, and invested in the tools needed to deliver more, faster, and better.
Decades later, we took a major step forward by transitioning from roll-fed printing to commercial cut-sheet and full-color production. New presses arrived, bindery equipment filled the floor, and soon our original space could no longer keep up.
In 2012, we began our next chapter inside a former furniture manufacturing facility in Newington. We transformed it into a modern print operation by clearing sawdust, creating dedicated production areas, and relocating every press that had carried us this far.
Since then, growth has continued. We expanded into advanced mailing solutions, added state-of-the-art digital equipment, and refined our workflow to deliver greater precision, efficiency, and quality.
Today, Service Press is a full-service provider of graphic communication solutions, offering everything from design support to printing, finishing, and distribution.
Nearly five decades after that first press rolled, our commitment remains the same: exceptional craftsmanship, reliable service, and results that make your message stand out.
We are a union print shop, transitioning into its third generation of family ownership.
